The widespread use of herbal products as complementary remedies poses a serious problem when these products are taken together with drugs. For example, induction of CYP3A4 enzyme by St John's wort has resulted in potentially serious clinical consequences (therapeutic failure of cyclosporine) and inhibition of CYPs by several herbs has caused..
