  • Abstract:

    Background
Many breast, ovarian & uterine cancers express estrogen receptors (ER) and are stimulated by estrogens (E). E does not stimulate ER+ cell proliferation in in vitro toxicity screening assays currently applied to novel drug candidates, although the in vivo clinical application of ER antagonists prevent tumour growth.
