Background
Currently, synthetic chemical hypnotics are the most widely used treatment for insomnia. However, chemical hypnotics have well-known side-effects, such tolerance and dependence. Thus, there is an increasing need for hypnotics with less side-effect and preferably from natural sources.Purpose
