I. Background
Onychomycosis, a common fungal infection, accounts for up to 50 % of all nail diseases. Terbinafine is used to treat fungal infections of the skin and nails. However, antifungal treatments require at least a daily dosing recommended for 6 months for complete cure, which leads to lower patient compliance.
