    Background information

    The current public sector supply mechanisms for essential medicines in Afghanistan is financed from multiple sources and many supply chain active players resulting in fragmented vertical supply streams of varying efficiency. In late 2011, the Ministry of Public Health established a coordinated procurement and distribution
