Background
Emergency hormonal contraception (EHC) has been available without prescription in Australia since 2004 with the introduction of levonorgestrel (LNG), licensed for use up to 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. In 2017, a new drug, ulipristal acetate (UPA), entered the non-prescription market for use up to 120 hours after unprotected..
