Backgrounds
Recently, aspoquinolone A (1), a quinolinone alkaloid, has been isolated from Aspergillus nidulans (HKI 0410) by Hertweck et al. and exhibits high cytotoxicity against L-929 mouse fibroblast cell lines (GI50 10.6 μg ml-1) and good antiproliferative effects on human leukemia cell line K-562 (GI50 17.8 μg ml-1).
