Pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists at the beginning of their careers can now benefit from advice on career development in the form of a toolkit created by FIP’s Young Pharmacists Group (YPG) released today.

The toolkit covers how to explore diverse career pathways, the career development cycle, how to develop transferable skills, and strategies for successful career changes. It has been produced following a YPG survey which identified a need for career development resources. “This toolkit will help individuals develop ideas, set goals and build a sense of self-awareness and understanding of what they need to do to reach their full potential. . . . It will support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good health and wellbeing) and 8 (Decent work and economic growth),” said FIP CEO Catherine Duggan.

The YPG is a network of motivated young pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists within FIP with the objectives of facilitating connections and networking so that new ideas can be shared, and doors to information and new possibilities are opened. Membership is open to individuals under 35 years of age or who have graduated from their first degree in pharmacy or pharmaceutical science within the past five years. Find out more here
