United Nations member states will be called on to “leverage pharmacists’ expertise and accessibility” for the benefit of number of goals during the 76th World Health Assembly, being held in Geneva, Switzerland, this week. FIP is expected to make several statements to ministers, advocating the value of pharmacists in non communicable diseases, patient safety, and infection control, among other areas. The FIP delegation this year includes leaders of several FIP member organisations, some who will make official statements on behalf of FIP. “We are delighted to be able to bring our members to WHA again, following the pandemic, to attend as FIP,” said FIP CEO Catherine Duggan. FIP will also be joining three constituencies of organisations to deliver statements on universal health coverage and the World Health Organization's preparedness and response to health emergencies. All statements given will be available here. Click here to watch the assembly live.
